Beginning in the 2026/2027 academic year, ELGU will participate in the Erasmus+ mobility framework, offering students and staff the opportunity to study, train, teach, or conduct research across Europe.
As part of the EPLO network, ELGU embraces the values of the European Higher Education Area and the Erasmus+ program: academic mobility, intercultural exchange, recognition of learning, and cooperation between European institutions. Incoming and outgoing students will benefit from ELGU’s supranational academic environment, its international faculty, and its campuses in Rome, Athens (Legrena), and Cascais.

Erasmus Charter for Higher Education
EPLO/ELGU holds the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE), the quality framework awarded by the European Commission that certifies an institution's commitment to the values and standards of the Erasmus+ programme. The Charter affirms that ELGU operates according to the principles of academic excellence, openness, and mutual respect that underpin European higher education cooperation, placing us within a network of thousands of institutions across Europe and beyond, bound by a shared vision of learning without borders.
What We Do
Through the Erasmus+ framework and a growing network of bilateral and multilateral partnerships, our International Relations Office develops and manages cooperation agreements with universities, research centres, international organisations, and professional bodies. We coordinate student and staff mobility, support joint academic programmes and co-supervised research, apply for European and international funding opportunities, and co-organise conferences, workshops, and study visits that bring together scholars and practitioners from across disciplines and jurisdictions.
