Nestled by the bay of Cape Sounion, overlooking the Aegean Sea, the ELGU Athens Campus offers students and visitors a serene collegiate setting amidst one of Greece’s most breathtaking landscapes.

The ELGU operates its Greek campus at the EPLO premises in Legrena, in the wider Sounion area of Attica - a coastal landscape of exceptional natural and cultural significance.

Academic administration in Athens is supported by the EPLO European Law and Governance School Office located at the Roman Agora in Plaka.

Classes take place at the seaside Legrena campus, overlooking the Aegean Sea and situated near the bay of Cape Sounion, home to the ancient Temple of Poseidon. Students enjoy a traditional collegiate setting surrounded by tranquility, natural beauty, and one of Greece’s most iconic historical environments.

The Legrena campus is one of EPLO’s most comprehensive academic premises, covering 32,500 m² with a 4,000 m² main building. Facilities include:

A 500‑seat conference hall with simultaneous interpretation in four languages
Four seminar rooms (capacity 70 persons each)
The European Public Law Library with over 35,000 volumes
A guest house with 2 suites and 11 rooms
A business center and administrative offices
A reading room overlooking the sea
Sports courts: basketball, tennis, volleyball
An outdoor theater
Extensive gardens and direct proximity to the coastline

More than 120 books on public law, and more than 80 issues of its quarterly multilingual journal, the European Review of Public Law, have been published under the scientific and editorial direction of the EPLO, while its library, the European Public Law Library, hosted at the premises in Sounion and exceeds 35.000 volumes.

Getting Around

Athens International Airport (ATH) is about 20 km (12 miles) east of the city center.

From the airport you can reach the city via:

Metro — Line 3 runs directly from the airport into central Athens.
Suburban railway (Proastiakos) — connects the airport to the national rail network; change at Plakentias for Metro Line 3 on the same ticket.
Express buses — 24-hour service to the city center.
Taxi — flat rate of about €40 to the central ring by day and €55 overnight; all licensed taxis are metered.

Around the city, a single ticket covers metro, bus, trolley, tram, and suburban rail for 90 minutes; day and multi-day passes offer better value.
