The EGPL Young Fellows & Volunteers Program 2026, Legrena, Cape Sounion, 11–13 September 2026
Every September, judges, jurists, and scholars from across Europe gather at the EPLO premises in Legrena, Cape Sounion for the European Group of Public Law Annual Reunion, one of the most respected meetings in the field of public law. In 2026, the Reunion marks thirty-five years since it first convened on the island of Spetses in 1991. And for the very first time, it is opening its doors to students and young people.
Each year, the Reunion brings together the members of the European Group of Public Law, senior judges, jurists, and academics appointed to institutions such as the Council of Europe, the European Commission, the Conseil d’État of France, and constitutional and high courts across the continent, to present and debate reports on a chosen theme. For 2026, that theme is “New Challenges for the State”. It is a room where the ideas shaping European governance are argued out first-hand, and this year you can be in it.
The EGPL Young Fellows & Volunteers Program 2026 gives you three days inside that landmark event, alongside the people shaping law and governance in Europe, and building a network most people only read about.
Two ways to take part, choose one:
Young Fellows (academic): for students and recent graduates in law and governance, up to 35. A small, competitively selected group attends the Reunion and engages with the EGPL network. Following the event, each Fellow develops a short, mentored paper on the 2026 theme, published as an “EGPL Paper” in the new EGPL Repository, and receives a Certificate of Participation.
Volunteers (hands-on): for anyone aged 18–27, from any field of study. Help run the Reunion, sit in on the sessions when off duty, and earn an EPLO/EGPL Volunteer Certificate, a credential from a recognized international organization, and a rare look at how one works from the inside.
Both tracks are free to take part in, travel and accommodation are self-funded. Applications are open until 30 August 2026, and Volunteers are selected on a rolling basis, so it pays to apply early.
